Esta vista del Telescopio Espacial Hubble es lo más lejano que hemos visto con luz visible. Utilizando una exposición de 11 días, Hubble ha detectado objetos de magnitud 30, cien millones de veces más ténue de lo que podemos ver a simple vista. Las galaxias más distantes se ven como se veían hace unos cientos de millones de años después de la Gran Explosión y sorprendentemente muestran similaridades con las galaxias de hoy.

Hubble Ultra Deep Field
13 billion light years

This view made with the Hubble Space Telescope is the farthest we have yet seen with visible light. Using an exposure time of over 11 days, Hubble has recorded objects of 30th magnitude, a hundred million times fainter than can be seen with the naked eye. The most distant galaxies are seen as they were a few hundred million years after the big bang, and show surprising similarities to the galaxies of today.
