Nebulosa Mariposa

La nebulosa Mariposa tiene este nombre debido a su apariencia de dos alas. La estrella brillante en la parte superior de la imagen es Sadr, en la constelación del Cisne. El hidrógeno (verde), el oxígeno (azul) y el azufre (rojo) nos pintan un área caótica de nebulosidad extendida.

Butterfly Nebula
3.700 light-years

The Butterfly Nebula gets its name from its two-winged appearance. The bright star at the top of the image is Sadr, in the constellation Cygnus (the swan). Hydrogen (green), oxygen (blue) and sulphur (red)depict a colourful and chaotic area of extended nebulosity.
