Constelación de Escorpio
600 años-luz hasta la estrella más brillante
La constelación grande de Escorpio (el escorpión) incorpora muchas estrellas deslumbrantes incluyendo Antares, una de las estrellas más brillantes de nuestra Galaxia. A la izquierda de la imagen está parte del plano de la Vía Láctea, donde se pueden ver muchas nubes de estrellas brillantes y filamentos largos de polvo oscuro. Escorpio se destaca en el cielo del Sur después de la puesta del Sol a mediados del año.

Scorpius Constellation
600 light-years to the brightest star
The large constellation of Scorpius (the scorpion) incorporates many dazzling stars including Antares, one of the brightest in our Galaxy. Across the left of the image is part of the Milky Way’s plane, where vast clouds of bright stars and long filaments of dark dust can be seen. Scorpius appears prominently in the southern sky after sunset during the middle of the year.
