Urano es el séptimo planeta desde el Sol y es el tercer planeta más grande de nuestro Sistema Solar. El hemisferio norte (a la izquierda de los anillos) está emergiendo de décadas de oscuridad. Las manchas brillantes blancas y azules en el hemisferio sur son nubes sobre la atmósfera del planeta. El metano en la atmósfera superior absorbe la luz roja, dándole al planeta su color azul-verdoso. Urano gira de costado, probablemente debido a una colisión con un objeto grande que ocurrió temprano en la historia del Sistema Solar.

Uranus is the seventh planet from the Sun and the third largest in our Solar System. The northern hemisphere (left of the rings) is emerging from decades of darkness. The bright white and blue spots in the southern hemisphere are clouds above the planet’s atmosphere. Methane in the upper atmosphere absorbs red light, giving the planet its blue-green colour. Uranus is spinning on its side, probably because of a collision with a large object early in the Solar System’s history.
